BIOGRAPHY

Melanie Mortimore is the Costume Director at 国标麻豆视频APP, where she brings decades of experience in theatrical costume design, construction, and wardrobe management. Her extensive background spans drama, musical theatre, and dance, with a focus on visual storytelling that enhances movement, character, and mood across a wide range of performance styles.

She has served as a teaching professional at Miami University, Ball State University, the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and Hendrix College, guiding students in costume design, clothing history, construction techniques, and production processes. In addition to her collegiate work, she continues to work as a freelance designer and costume construction artist for theatres including the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Ohio Northern University, Miami University Opera, and Georgia State University Opera. In addition she contributes to the development of young performers and artists as the Drama Director for Talawanda High School in Oxford, OH where she directs and supports numerous productions. She also works internationally as the Costume Director for FIO Italia (Festival of International Opera), where she supports international opera productions with her design and technical skills in Urbania, Italy each summer. 

Melanie鈥檚 creative expertise includes specialized skills in pattern drafting, millinery and puppetry, adding depth and versatility to her design approach. Believing in the importance of meticulous craftsmanship and the value and spirit of trust and willing collaboration, Melanie is dedicated to creating designs that elevate performance while mentoring the next generation of theatre artists. She is passionate about storytelling through costume and remains committed to cultivating future designers through rigorous, hands-on education.
